4 experiments with granular synthesis

Each of these 4 short soundscapes are part of my initial experimentation with granular synthesis. Each sound is created from actual radio wave recordings of each planet slowed down to 1% of the original speed. Granular synthesis enables you to slow down time but keep sounds at the same pitch and also change pitch but keep the sounds at the original length.

I used a demo version of a piece of software called MacPOD which is a standalone granular synthesiser which is quite simple to use and produces some very interesting and high quality results. The four files below are from my first experiment with this.

The synthesised version of the moon, IO.
